BRICS INSIGHTS is a social development and research think-tank specializing in climate policy, resilience building, and sustainable social development. We generate evidence to inform climate-responsive development and humanitarian investments, with a strong focus on supporting national and county governments, NGOs, and non-profits, Civil Society Organizations, Development Partners and the private sector players rolling out researched social development interventions. Our work includes reviewing and updating existing policies, developing actionable recommendations, and providing targeted, need-based capacity building to ensure continuous policy review, adaptation, and effective programme implementation.

We undertake rigorous analytical work, including baseline, midline, and end-line assessments, to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts of climate and development programmes. Our approach integrates climate risk participatory and multistakeholder analysis, policy coherence assessments, and institutional capacity diagnostics to support evidence-based decision-making.

Our core ethos is anchored in advancing climate-resilient and inclusive social development. We support change agents to address systemic challenges, such as climate vulnerability, inequality, and governance gaps, that hinder communities from achieving sustainable livelihoods and resilience.

Our service offering spans climate policy advisory, strategy development, programme design, and institutional strengthening. We support the formulation, review, and harmonization of climate policies, including alignment with national frameworks such as Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and County Climate Change Action Plans (CCCAPs). Additionally, we provide technical assistance in project conception, climate finance research, feasibility and pre-feasibility studies, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems tailored to climate interventions.

Through our engagements and original research, we identify best practices and innovative approaches in governance and resilience programming, which we actively disseminate to inform policy and practice across the development sector. Our multidisciplinary research teams have successfully led assignments in policy development, programme evaluation, and institutional capacity strengthening across our thematic areas of research.

We strongly focus on food security and agribusiness, climate adaptation, and social protection programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa, and we continue to be thought leaders within the humanitarian programming space in the region.

We maintain a proficient on-site team dedicated to ensuring the successful implementation of our initiatives. We deploy innovative approaches to depict impact and help our clients disseminate the findings for policy influence and knowledge transfer.

Our vision is to contribute to realization of a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, and where social and economic development is equitable and sustainable.

We are committed to catalyzing societal transformation by empowering change agents with evidence-based insights and strategies for critical development and humanitarian investments.
